President - Melanie Washington

Melanie Washington, a native of South Jersey, has called Northern Virginia and the DMV home for over 20 years. Her passion for skiing, service, and inclusive community led her to Sugar and Spice, where she has been a member since 2019. In addition to winter sports, Melanie enjoys golfing, gardening, traveling, and is a huge fan of Formula 1 and the Dallas Cowboys. She is passionate about social justice, service through leadership, and lifelong learning, and serves as a board member for several social and academic nonprofit organizations.



She has spent her career in multiple positions at global technology companies. Currently, she develops cybersecurity products for large enterprise, federal and military organizations. Melanie is an alumna of the University of Pittsburgh- School of Engineering and the University of Pennsylvania- Wharton School and has several professional and technical certifications.

Vice President - Myra Hitchens

Myra is a co-founder of Sugar and Spice Snow and Social Club. Myra works as a Station Manager for Southwest Airlines at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport. She is also a Culture Committee Ambassador and Community Outreach Liaison for the airline and a member of their ski organization. Myra holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Policy Administration from Texas Southern University and Master's Degree in Business Administration from California State University. She is also the Proprietor of Nathaniel Jones Solutions LLC in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Toya Burns

Toya Burns has been with Sugar & Spice Snow and Social Club since it was incorporated. She previously served as Financial Secretary for the Club. Her interests include skiing (of course!), SCUBA diving, travel, and tennis. 


Erin Jackson

Financial Secretary - Erin Jackson

Member Since 2015


Erin Jackson is a native Houstonian who now lives in the DFW metroplex. Erin, currently serving her third term as Financial Secretary, has been with Sugar & Spice Snow and Social Club since 2015. She also became the Financial Secretary for NBS in 2023. Erin is an attorney in both the civilian sector and in the Texas Army National Guard. A former AH-64A Apache Attack Helicopter pilot, Erin is an adventure seeker and finds winter sports to be right up her alley. Erin believes deeply in supporting the youth in NBS and SASS. Her hobbies include snow sports (skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country skiing), puzzles, and reading. Erin is always looking for someone will to try curling with her and thinks we should "always be recruiting."

Mrs. Tia Loftin, is a world traveler, jazz enthusiast, art collector, a Californian, and an avid skier. She enjoys spending time with her family located throughout three continents.

Marketing Director/Webmaster - Kenya Brock

Kenya Brock has been skiing since the age of 4, which is when she first became a member of the National Brotherhood of Snowsports. She is a seasoned marketing professional who currently works for Comcast Advertising. Besides skiing, in her spare time she enjoys traveling, wine tasting, watching movies, and running. Kenya graduated from Boston University with a degree in Film Studies. She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Originally from Boston, MA, she currently resides in Atlanta, GA.

Secretary/Nominating Committee - Keisha Smith

Keisha was born and raised in Southern California but now resides in Houston, Texas. She loves the comradery of our club and serves as secretary. She has been a member of the National Brotherhood of Skiers (now National Brotherhood of Ski Sports) since 2009 and is a founding member of Sugar and Spice. When it comes to skiing, she thinks of herself as a "life-long learner ". She enjoys cooking, traveling, photography, art, and creating memories with family and good friends. She is excited about the vision of NBS as well as SASS and is dedicated to "bringing color to the mountain".

A Buffalo, NY native now living in Houston, Texas, Angela has proudly served as a Southwest Airlines flight attendant for 37 years. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, entertaining, cooking, dancing, and cheering on her beloved Buffalo Bills as an avid member of the Bills Mafia.


Angela attended her first NBS Summit in 1994 and found her perfect fit when she joined Sugar and Spice in 2014. Since then, she has held leadership roles including serving three terms as SASS President, acting as Chairwoman for the NBS Eastern Region Summerfest, and currently serving as Executive Secretary for the National Brotherhood of Snowsports.



"Sugar and Spice Snow and Social Club Inc. has developed into one of the premier clubs within Eastern Region. Since our inception in October of 2011, we have built a thriving Youth program, a male component to the club called BOSS and have had many of our SASS members volunteer for other important roles within the NBS organization. I'm truly proud of our club, our members, and the opportunity to lead!"

Health and Safety Director/Race Director - Ouida Brown

Member Since 2016


Ouida Brown has been an active member of the National Brotherhood of Snowsports, Inc. since 2003 and became a member of Sugar & Spice in 2016. She is an avid skier, runner, cyclist and triathlete . Ouida currently serves as Health and Safely Director as well as the Race Director for Sugar and Spice. She resides in Chicago Illinois but is originally from Mississippi. She is a proud graduate of Florida A&M University from the department of physical therapy. Ouida worked as a physical therapist for three years and then went to medical school. She received her Medical Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, completed her residency at University of Alabama at Birmingham, followed by a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Ouida has published a book, which is a national best seller on Amazon, called Running Is Cheaper Than Therapy: A Journey Back to Wholeness, along with a podcast with the same name.

Nominating Committee Chair - Debra Few

Debra is a Chicago, Illinois, native and is still deeply rooted there. She was introduced to skiing while residing in the Detroit, Michigan area and joined the Jim Dandy Ski Club. She has been an active member of the NBS since 1999 and became a member of Sugar & Spice Snow and Social Club in 2012. She is a skiing, cycling, and travel enthusiast. Debra currently serves as the Sugar & Spice Nominating Committee Chairman. Her favorite club trips are Early Season Warm Up, Summit, and SummerFest.  

She has worked in several different industries and is experienced in airline, telecommunications, business data & analytics, automotive, and government. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautics and a Master’s in Business Administration. Debra resides in Maryland and works for the Federal Aviation Administration as an Emergency Operations Manager.





Beverly Fields

Attorney Advisor/Parliamentarian - Beverly Fields

Ms. Beverly Ann Fields, Esq., PRP is a native Washingtonian. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Howard University (’89) after which she worked at Booz Allen & Hamilton in the Ship Systems Engineering Practice. She subsequently earned a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Howard University’s School of Law (’94) and practiced energy law at Dewey Ballantine. Thereafter, she worked on Capitol Hill for three members of Congress. Since 2004, she has served as Chief of Staff to the D.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Ms. Fields is a member of the United States Supreme Court Bar, and the D.C. and Md. State Bars and holds a Six Sigma Black Belt certification from Villanova University. She is a member of and holds offices in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; The Links, Incorporated; and the National Brotherhood of Skiers, Inc. Ms. Fields is a twenty (20) year member of the National Association of Parliamentarians (NAP) and holds the highest certification of the NAP - Professional Registered Parliamentarian (PRP). Ms. Fields is an avid skier and road cyclist, classical pianist, sports and music enthusiast.
